Computer rentals in San Diego

Mac and Windows laptops and desktops, rented for a day, a week, a month or as long as you need them. Every machine is set up in our warehouse on Complex Drive in Kearny Mesa before it goes out. Mac Rentals has rented computers in San Diego since 1989.

Mac or Windows, laptop or desktop

Most orders are a mix. A training room might need a row of identical Windows laptops; a production office might need MacBook Pros for editing and an iMac at the front desk. Tell us what the machines have to run and how many people will use them, and we will suggest models from what we have.

Apple silicon, or Intel when you need it

Most Macs we send out now are Apple silicon: M1 through the current generation, in Pro, Max and Ultra versions, from a 24 inch iMac on a registration desk to a Mac Studio cutting video. We also still carry Intel Macs, including MacBook Pro Touch Bar models, for software that was never rebuilt for Apple silicon or a machine that has to match what a client already runs.

Set up before it leaves

Computers are imaged to your build before they go out, so every unit has the same software and the same setup. If your company manages devices with an MDM, we can enroll the machines in yours, or manage them for you through Mosyle. Every machine is wiped when it comes back.

Delivered or shipped

In San Diego we can deliver the same day when the computers are in stock, or you can reserve them and pick them up at our Kearny Mesa warehouse, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Larger jobs and event setups are delivered and set up by our staff, who can stay on site for an event. Anything going outside the area ships from here with return labels already in the box. Same-day delivery and pickup in San Diego.

What people rent computers for

The same machines go to very different jobs:

  • Event registration and check-in desks
  • Training classes and temporary classrooms
  • Film and TV production offices
  • Trial war rooms and legal teams
  • A stand-in while your own computer is being repaired
  • Esports and gaming events
  • Staff working from home

If something stops working

Call and a person answers. A technician works through the problem with you on the phone first. If a machine has to be replaced, we send another the fastest way that suits the situation: delivered, shipped, or shipped overnight.

How renting works

Rentals run by the day, the week, the month, or ongoing. Before equipment goes out we usually ask for one or more of a card deposit, a purchase order or a certificate of insurance. If you need it longer, the rental usually moves to the next length.
