Why people ask for an Intel Mac

Apple silicon is the right machine for most jobs. These are the jobs where it isn't:

• Software that was never rebuilt for Apple silicon, or a version the company is standardized on
• Windows through Boot Camp, which Apple silicon Macs cannot do
• Testing or support on the same hardware a customer or an office still runs
• Older peripherals, capture cards and dongles that expect an Intel Mac
• Matching machines already in a room, so every seat behaves the same

Touch Bar models

The MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar ran from 2016 to 2021, and Apple no longer makes it. We still carry 13, 15 and 16 inch models, with Core i5, i7 and i9 processors, for teams whose software or workflow expects one.

Set up the same way as everything else

Intel or not, machines are imaged to your build before they go out, so every unit is identical. We can enroll them in your MDM, or manage them for you through Mosyle. Every machine is wiped when it comes back.

Getting one

Stock of any retired model is finite, so the sooner you ask the better, especially for matched sets. Larger jobs and event setups around San Diego are delivered and set up by our staff. Everything else ships anywhere in the US, with return labels already in the box.

If something stops working

Call and a person answers. A technician works through the problem with you on the phone first. If a machine has to be replaced, we send another the fastest way that suits the situation: delivered, shipped, or shipped overnight.

How renting works

Rentals run by the day, the week, the month, or ongoing. Before equipment goes out we usually ask for one or more of a card deposit, a purchase order or a certificate of insurance. If you need it longer, the rental usually moves to the next length.
