What we have learned delivering equipment into San Diego venues. Written for the person who has to make it work on the day.

Most of what goes wrong with event technology goes wrong before anyone switches anything on: freight arriving at a building that will not accept it, a booth with no power ordered, a demo built on the assumption that the hall wifi will hold. None of that is about the equipment. It is about the rules of the room, and the rules of the room are written down in places nobody reads until the second time.

These pages are what we have picked up delivering into San Diego venues since 1989. Where a guide states a venue rule, it says when we checked it and points at the venue’s own page, because rules change and a show’s exhibitor manual can be stricter than the building.
