When a Surface is the right answer

An iPad runs apps. A Surface runs Windows — the actual application, not a mobile version of it. That distinction decides most Surface rentals: field inspection against a Windows system, signature capture into desktop software, engineers who need their CAD viewer on site, presenters who want to walk around and still drive a real machine.

Surface, iPad or laptop

If the software is an app and the job is tapping, an iPad is cheaper and there is far more kiosk hardware built around it. If nobody needs a touchscreen, a laptop is cheaper still and easier to type on all day. A Surface earns its cost in the narrow gap between those two — and when that is the job, nothing else does it.

Imaged to your build, joined to your domain or enrolled in Intune, your software installed and tested here. It appears in your management console the same way your own fleet does, and leaves it when the rental ends.
