Buying used equipment from us
Equipment comes off rental in batches. When we retire a model, it goes out for sale — tested, wiped and usually in better condition than its age suggests.
What it means for stock to be ex-rental
Rental equipment is checked between jobs, kept current on software and repaired rather than run into the ground, because a machine that fails on a customer site costs us more than fixing it. When a model retires from the fleet it is wiped, tested and sold.
What that also means: availability comes in waves. A model is either being retired right now or it isn’t.
Right now
There is nothing listed at the moment. Rather than clicking through to an empty page, tell us what you’re looking for — we’ll let you know when it comes off the fleet, usually before it goes up for sale anywhere.
When there is stock, it’s listed on one of our two eBay stores: macrentals and lldeals. Worth checking both — listings go up on whichever account fits.
Buying more than one
Quantities of the same model come up regularly — twenty identical laptops out of a training fleet, a run of iPads from an event contract. That is easier to arrange directly than through a listing, and usually better priced.
